Weight Loss Tips

Weight Loss Tips:By Dr Unnati Chavda.

1. Check to see if you are overweight or obese. To find out your
BMI you need to divide your weight (measured in kilos) by your height
(measured in metres) squared. If the result is greater than 25, your
health may be improved by losing weight.

2. Match your diet to your body’s requirements. If you eat and
drink more calories than your body requires you will put on weight. Learn
to control calories and portion sizes, make recipes leaner, and eat
infrequently from fast food restaurants. Also learn how to snack with
healthful choices.

3. Colour your diet with a large variety of colorful, cancer fighting
fruit and vegetables. There are seven different color ranges of
both fruit and vegetables and by choosing between 5 to 9 daily serves
from a wide range of fruit and vegetables, we are extending our
consumption of cancer (and other disease) fighting nutrients.

4.Stress and weight loss:
Stressing over losing weight probably wont help you accomplish your goals. It might help to have professional help to monitor you. I wouldnt weigh myself everyday. Instead you would try to learn nutrition from a certified professional dietician, or physician nutrition specialist. aiming for 5-7 fruits and fresh vegetables a day- not fired, or with oil, is a good way to start your journey.

5. A very simple logic for weight loss:
Any diet that has you take in fewer calories than you need will help you lose weight. Weight loss is a very simple equation: Energy in (calories) - Energy out (exercise)= Energy Difference. If this number is POSITIVE, you lose weight. If it is NEGATIVE, you gain weight.

6.Suddenly Increase/Losing In Weight:
Any sudden changes in weight could be an indication of systemic issues - weigh gain could be heart, fluid gain that is sudden, weight loss is worrisome is a sign body is breaking down quickly to make up energy need evaluation for acute illness, parasites or any other chronic diseases.
So be careful for your sudden increase/losing in weight and consult doctor soon.

Weight Loss Tips

Weight Loss Tips:By Dr Unnati Chavda.

Only diet won't works but the only thing that will have lasting effects on us is when we are ready to make lifestyle changes. These changes will make us not only lose the weight, but keep it off for life. To lose weight and keep it off, the best approach is to focus on lifestyle changes and develop an eating plan that’s enjoyable.

Eat lean protein with every meal. Protein provides a powerful
signal to the brain providing a longer sense of fullness. The right
source of protein is essential to controlling your hunger with fewer
calories.
Rev up your metabolism with activity. If you want to enjoy a
lifetime of well being, exercise is a key ingredient. Thirty minutes
activity each day that takes as much effort as a brisk walk is
recommended for adults. Children should be active for an hour each day.
We all know exactly what weight gain is; the scale goes up in
numbers, our clothes start to get tight, it takes more effort to
get out of a chair, the seat belt is tighter and we just don’t feel
as well.

Food traps :Know which situations can trigger your out-of-control eating. The best way to identify these food traps and emotional eating is to keep a food journal. For as long as you find it helpful, write down what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat, how you’re feeling and how hungry you are. This will help you understand and stay in control of your eating behaviours

We each need to learn to make it a lifestyle that you can live with and enjoy day in and day out to continue to maintain your weight-loss.
